Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar local storage (localStorage, IndexedDB) PointSnipe uses, why, and how to change your choice. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. Your choice

We split cookies into strictly necessary (always on — the site cannot work without them) and analytics (only with your permission). If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or somewhere we cannot presume consent, analytics stay off until you accept the banner. In the United States, analytics are on by default and you can opt out from the banner; we also honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time: , or by clearing this site's data in your browser. Withdrawing is as easy as giving.

2. Strictly necessary

  • Sign-in / session (Firebase Authentication) — keeps you securely signed in. Without it you could not use your account.
  • cc_cookie — records your cookie choice, and when you made it, so we do not ask again on every page (set by our consent manager).
  • pp-region — a coarse jurisdiction label (e.g. EU vs US) so we apply the right consent rules. Not a precise location.
  • pp-theme — remembers light or dark mode.

3. Analytics — only with your consent

  • Google Analytics 4 (cookies such as _ga) — counts page views and product events (for example, which features people use) so we know what to improve. First-party; not used for ads.
  • Microsoft Clarity (cookies such as _clck, _clsk) — aggregated heatmaps and session replay that show where people get stuck. Clarity masks text input by default.

We do not run advertising cookies, cross-site ad tracking, or sell your data. If you reject or opt out, these are not loaded (or are switched off) and you can still use every part of PointSnipe.

4. Payments

When you buy a plan, checkout is handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, which sets its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those are governed by Paddle's own cookie and privacy notices.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and local storage in its settings. Blocking strictly-necessary items may sign you out or break parts of the site. Turning on your browser's Global Privacy Control signal tells us — and other sites — not to sell or share your data.
